Emergency Management Planning

Emergency management, like continuous quality improvement, is a cyclic process involving risk reduction/mitigation, readiness, response and recovery

Tairawhiti DHB emergency management plans are based on the risks and threats that can reasonably be anticipated to impact on the health services in the entire Tairawhiti area. Any such emergency situation will be responded to by TDH Management by creating an Incident Management Team appropriate to the situation.

Tairawhiti DHB has an Emergency Operations Centre, based in the Morris Adair Building Board Room, which can be activated and operating in 20 minutes. TDH will also shortly have two mobile EOC units which can quickly be moved to any site in the Hospital to provide Incident Management services and support.
