Gisborne Hospital Trust
The Gisborne Hospital Trust was established in 1984.
The trust exists to provide funding for:
- The advancement and dissemination of health knowledge and skill;
- The provision of material facilities of any kind which would assist the advancement or dissemination of health knowledge or the promotion of higher standards of health practice;
- The care, comfort and aiding the treatment and convalescence of patients; or
- The performance of all such acts, matters and things as are incidental or conducive to the attainment of the above.
Each year the Trustees of the Gisborne Hospital Trust make available a sum of money earned from interest on the Trust's Investments. Applications for funding are then requested. A selection committee of Clinicians, Management and Board Members recommend a schedule of successful applicants to the trustees . The Trustees then check the recommendations comply with the Trust Deed, and release the money for purchases. Grants are given for items such as clinical equipment, furnishings, conference attendance, patient comfort, art work and electronic equipment.
Donations to the Gisborne Hospital Trust are very much welcomed and appreciated. Donation amounts are usually added to the Trust's base capital fund, and invested carefully to ensure an ongoing annual dividend for dispursement.
